Great informative site. I am descended from Ella Florence Darling and Joseph Harry Green (my grand-parents) who moved from Ramco, South Australia, to Roleystone, Western Australia, via Victoria. Great help for tracing one branch of our family tree. Thanks.

I came to Aus. 1970 from Scotland, my ancestors come from the south east of Scotland. An uncle who bears my name when to South Africa in the early 1930's and had a son with the same name whom I am trying to find. Bill

My father, Michael McPhail, was raised by Alex and Kate Darling in Dublin, Ontario, Canada. They had two children -- Jack and Muriel. Dad was placed with friends of his family after his mother died at a very early age. Dad's father was John McPhail (a stone mason)and mother Mary Kelly McPhail had immigrated from Greenock, Scotland between 1900 and 1905? -- brothers WilliamBill and JohnScotty McPhail -- older sister Margaret McPhail. Father, John McPhail, had taken the older children back to Scotland after his wife's death. The family then returned to the U.S. and settled
in the Buffalo and Niagara Falls area of New York State.

My father was Rupert Darling, youngest son of Dr John Singleton Darling of Lurgan, Armagh, and grandson of John Darling who was manager of the National Bank in Dublin.
