My dad was James R. Darling, born to Madaline and Leonard Darling II in Syracuse NY. He had 5 brothers and sisters. He recentilly passed away, and I'm trying to gather as much family history as I can for my two boys. If anyone has any information on this "branch" of Darlings, please feel free to contact me. Thank you, and many blessings... Noelle

Hi to you all! Just wondering whether any of you are descendants of Cosmo William Darling of Southampton?

Very Interesting to learn about my family name. It was interesting looking through the family history, none of my grandparents or great grandparents were listed but it is neat to see how the name traces back.

This site offers lots of information on the Darling name. I've been researching it for awhile now, being one myself. Props!

I noticed that my previous email was marked "private" but I reproduce it for information.

My father (b 1921 still alive) had a "foster" brother Ernest James Darling (b 09/1/1911 d 10/01/1981) who had a son Ted (deceased) and a daughter Sylvia, still living.

Ern's son, Edward (Ted) James Darling b 02/05/1935 now deceased d? had commenced a Family Tree, but just how far he got I don't know.

We are trying to find the information he had through family members.

Ted was fairly sure that Ern and my father (Howard Ray Turner) were actually related but whether Ern was a descendant of the Henry Darling who came out on the "Sibella" in 1848 or a different "Darling" family we do not know at this stage.

Henry Darling's daughter, Rosalie Charlotte Darling, married my Grandfather's (Richard Turner) brother, Henry James Turner (son of Henry James Browning Turner who came out from England on the "Eden" in 1838, a child from his second wife Elizabeth Ann Edwards)
Their son, Henry James Darling Turner married Ida Amelia Darling. Whether

My Grandfather, Richard Turner married Grace Darling, daughter of Henry Darling and Rosina Osmond Darling.
My grandfather, Richard Turner remarried an Olive Hilda Nixon of which my father was the product.

The information that we have is that the brothers Richard and Henry Turner, having married Darling girls, adopted the name Darling into theirs and became Darling Turner. We do not have any sources to substantiate this, however there may be some within the records that Ted left behind.

This is what we have so far.
p.s. My wife Annette is the "historian", I am just along for the ride!!!!!!! and the interest
